How to change the target URL?

Last updated: June 9, 2026

Introduction

A target URL is the specific domain, application, or API endpoint that Astra's security tools assess for vulnerabilities. You can update these URLs to correct setup errors or purchase additional targets to expand your security coverage to new assets

Use these steps if you entered a URL incorrectly during the initial setup, need to switch a scan between staging and production environments, or wish to add a unique subdomain or new application to your subscription

Instructions

How it works:

  • Before Verification: You can update the target URL directly in your dashboard settings without any restrictions if ownership has not yet been verified.

  • After Verification: Once a target is verified, URL changes are restricted and handled on a case-by-case basis. You must contact the Astra support team to assist with this process.

  • Purchasing a New Target:

    1. Navigate to the Targets Page from the sidebar.

    2. Locate the "Add More Targets" widget, select your Target Type (e.g., Web App, API), and click Continue.

    3. Choose the specific Workspace where the new target will be managed.

    4. Follow the checkout flow to define your plan and complete the payment.

  • Note: Each unique URL requires a separate target license.

Next Steps:

Expanding your security is cost-effective, as Astra offers discounted pricing on each additional target you add.
