Introduction
Astra uses Paddle as its subscription billing provider and Merchant of Record to manage all transactions. Depending on your plan and region, multiple payment methods and billing modes are available.
Who Should Read This
Customers and Admins: To understand which payment methods are accepted and how to activate or switch billing modes.
Enterprise Customers: To learn about invoice-based billing and how to set up offline subscriptions.
India-Based Customers: To understand regional payment restrictions that may affect their transactions.
Key Functions: Supported Payment Methods
Credit & Debit Cards: Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, and UnionPay are all supported.
PayPal: Pay using a linked PayPal account.
Wire Transfer: Available exclusively for enterprise customers.
Billing Modes
Billed Online: Automatic card-based billing processed through Paddle. No manual steps required after setup.
Billed by Invoice: Manual or offline billing intended for enterprise customers. Offline subscriptions cannot be activated independently . you must contact the Astra team to set this up.
Available Actions
Switch to Card Payment: If you have an existing offline subscription, your dashboard may provide a Switch to Payment by Card option to move to automated online billing.
Set Up Offline Billing: Contact the Astra team directly to activate an invoice-based or wire transfer subscription.
Best Practices
India-Based Customers: Due to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations, automatic payments are limited to ₹5,000 INR per transaction. For amounts exceeding this limit, please ensure to approve the e-mandate and complete the necessary steps from your bank end .
Enterprise Customers: Coordinate with the Astra team early when setting up wire transfer or invoice billing to avoid delays in subscription activation.
