How to Install and Uninstall Astra Website Protection plugin in PrestaShop

Congratulations on signing up for Astra Website Protection. Astra works with PrestaShop out of the box, and can be easily installed on your site. This guide walks you through the process of installing & uninstalling the Astra Website Protection plugin on your PrestaShop store.

How to Install Website Protection plugin in PrestaShop



After purchasing Astra Website Protection, login to the Dashboard

Navigate to the Website Protection page & click on the Complete Setup button

Complete the details in the Getting Started workflow as follows:

Enter the Full Website URL where you will install the plugin. For eg: https://www.getastra.com/blog
Enter a short nickname which will be displayed instead of the entire website URL
Select PrestaShop as your website technology

Go to the next step, and Download the PrestaShop plugin

Click on the Show Activation Code button & copy the code to your clipboard

Head over to your store's PrestaShop admin area (also known as Back-office), and open Modules > Module Manager from the left sidebar. Now click on Upload a Module and select the zip file you have just downloaded.

Either click on Configure in the success modal or select Astra Security in the left sidebar, to open the plugin page

Click on the Enter Activation Code button & paste the Activation code you copied earlier

How to Reinstall Website Protection plugin in PrestaShop



If you've installed the plugin on your PrestaShop website once and want to reinstall it, this guide is for you:

Navigate to the Settings page of the website in your Astra Dashboard

Scroll down and click on Re-install Astra button

Select PrestaShop in the platform dropdown, and Download the PrestaShop plugin

Head over to your store's PrestaShop admin area (also known as Back-office), and open Modules > Module Manager from the left sidebar. Now click on Upload a Module and select the zip file you have just downloaded.

In the left sidebar, you will see an icon called Astra Security

If you are reinstalling on the same server then your plugin might already be activated, and no further action is required
If you see a button titled Enter Activation Key then you need to copy the Activation code from the dashboard and enter it here


How to Uninstall Website Protection plugin in PrestaShop



Login to your site's PrestaShop admin area, and open Modules > Module Manager

Search for Astra Security and click on the Uninstall button in the dropdown next to it

If you want to permanently delete the plugin files, select the checkbox Optional: delete module folder after uninstall.

Alternatively, you can login to your server via File Manager, or SSH and delete the folder modules/getastrapremium in the PrestaShop directory
