How to Clear Application Cache
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Introduction
If you are seeing errors when loading a page, viewing outdated data, or experiencing unexpected behaviour in your Astra dashboard, clearing the application cache is the recommended first troubleshooting step. This process takes less than thirty seconds and resolves most common display and data loading issues without needing to contact support.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
An active Astra account with login access
Access to your Astra dashboard in a supported browser
When to Clear the Cache
Clear the application cache when you notice any of the following.
A page is returning an error or not loading correctly. Data appears outdated or is not reflecting recent changes such as new scan results or updated vulnerability statuses. A feature or UI element is behaving unexpectedly after a recent platform update. You have been asked by Astra support to clear your cache as part of troubleshooting.
Steps to Clear the Cache
Step 1: Log in to your Astra dashboard.
Step 2: Open the Command Menu using the keyboard shortcut for your operating system. On Mac, press Command and K together. On Windows, press Ctrl, Shift, and K together.
Step 3: In the Command Menu search bar, type Clear Cache.
Step 4: Click the Clear Cache option that appears in the results.
Step 5: Wait five to ten seconds for the process to complete. The duration depends on the size of the cache being cleared.
Step 6: Refresh the page and check whether the issue is resolved.
Expected Outcome
After clearing the cache, the dashboard will reload with the most current version of the application. Any previously stuck or outdated data should now display correctly. If you were seeing a specific error on a page, that error should no longer appear.
Troubleshooting
Command Menu not opening: Confirm you are using a supported browser. The Command Menu shortcut works in most modern browsers. If the shortcut is not responding, try clicking elsewhere on the dashboard first to ensure the page has focus, then try the shortcut again.
Issue persists after clearing cache: Try a full browser refresh by pressing Ctrl and Shift and R on Windows or Command and Shift and R on Mac. If the problem continues, try opening the dashboard in a private or incognito browser window to rule out browser extension conflicts.
Clear Cache option not appearing in search: Ensure you are typing the exact phrase Clear Cache in the Command Menu search bar. If it does not appear, close the menu and reopen it using the keyboard shortcut, then try again.
Still experiencing issues after all steps: Raise a support ticket from your Astra dashboard. Include a description of the original error, the browser you are using, and confirmation that you have already cleared the cache. This helps the support team resolve your issue faster.
