Integrate Slack with Astra's OrbitX

How to Connect Slack Integration to Your Astra's OrbitX?

Slack is a workspace-level integration, allowing you to streamline notifications and alerts across your entire workspace. Here's how to set it up:

Navigate to the Integrations Page:

On OrbitX, go to the Integrations section.

Click on the Slack Integration Card:

Select the Connect button on the Slack integration card.

Open the Side Sheet:

A side sheet will open, providing detailed information about the Slack integration. You will see an option to connect.

Authorize the Integration:

You will be redirected to Slack’s OAuth page. Select the channel you wish to connect, then click Allow.

All updates from Astra will be posted to the security-astra channel. You can choose to post the alerts to different channels by updating the settings from the Integration page in the Astra Dashboard.

Completion and Success Message:

After authorization, you'll return to OrbitX with a success message confirming the integration.

Slack integration will now appear under the Active Integrations section, indicating that it's successfully connected to your workspace.

How to Manage Alert Preferences for Your Slack Integration?

Alert preferences let you choose which notifications you want to receive in Slack. You can set alerts for:

Vulnerabilities: Get notified when new security issues are found.
Scan Updates: Know when a scan is completed.
Account Changes: Stay updated on any important changes to your account or settings.

By customizing these alerts, you ensure that your team only gets the notifications that matter most, and you can direct them to the right Slack channels.

Access Alert Preferences:

On the Integrations page, click the three-dot menu on the Slack card, then select "Manage Alert Preferences.

Configure Alerts:

A side sheet will open where you can see existing alert settings. You can filter alerts by target or channel, add new alerts, or bulk delete alerts.

Note: Enable the Auto-Add Alerts option to automatically set alerts for newly added targets in your workspace.

To edit an alert, click on the respective alerts and click Edit Confirm your action to finalize.

To delete an alert, click on the respective alert and select Delete. Confirm your action to complete the deletion.

Add a New Alert Preference:

To add a new alert, click on Add Alert.

Once the new sheet opens, select the targets, and click Continue.

In the Alert Preference step, specify the following:

Alert name (e.g., Scan Started, Scan Stopped, Vulnerabilities, etc.)
Channel name you wish to get alerts

Finally, click Save to confirm, and then click Add Alert at the bottom of the page.

How to Disable/Pause the Slack integration

To pause/delete the integration with your Slack workspace, click on the Disable/Pause button in the Slack card on the Integration page.

Click the Disable/Pause button on the Slack card.
A confirmation dialog box will appear. Choose Pause to pause or Delete to remove the integration.
