How to enable the Slack integration

To integrate your Astra dashboard with your Slack workspace:

Open the Astra Dashboard and navigate to the Integrations page for the desired target
Click on the Slack card to see the details of the integration, and the proceed by clicking on Add to Slack



You will now be redirected to the Slack website, where you have to authorize our app. Select the correct workspace and the Slack channel where you would like Astra to send the alerts to. You can customise this for each alert later on.

Once you add the Astra Slack app to your workspace, a new private channel called security-astra will be created. Team members added to your Astra Dashboard, will automatically be added to this channel if they have Slack accounts in your workspace.



After successfully connecting, you'll be able to see the list of alerts that will be sent to your Slack workspace.

All updates from Astra will be posted to the security-astra channel. You can choose to post the alerts to different channels by updating the settings from the Integration page in the Astra Dashboard.

How to modify specific alerts

You can enable/disable alerts or change the channel they are posted to - from the Integration page in the Astra Dashboard.

To edit any alert, click on the down arrow next to the alert name.

To change the Slack channel for any alert, click on the Channel Name dropdown and select the channel where you'd like the respective alert to be sent.
If you want to set that channel for all the alerts, click on Apply to all alerts below the dropdown.

To stop receiving any alert, click on Pause alert.

How to disable the Slack integration

To remove/delete the integration with your Slack workspace, click on Disable App in the Slack card on the Integration page.

How to Troubleshooting Slack Integration

If you're experiencing issues with the Slack integration, here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Step 1 - Adding Astra Security Bot to #security-astra Channel

Type /add in the Slack channel where you want to add the Astra Security bot.



Search for Astra Security in the search bar.



Click on Add to invite the Astra Security bot to the #security-astra channel.

Step 2 - Disable and Enable the Integration

Go to your Slack workspace settings or integrations management section.
Disable the integration.
After a few moments, enable the integration again.

Step 3 - Deleting and Re-adding the Channel

If the issue persists, consider deleting the #security-astra channel.
Add the integration afresh from the Astra dashboard to create a new channel.

Step 4 - Renaming #security-astra Channel

Rename the existing channel (e.g, #security-astra to #security-astra-archive).
Add the integration afresh from the Astra dashboard, enabling it to create a new channel
