Account Security Settings

The Account Security Settings page allows you to manage your account’s privacy and security details. You can control sign-in methods, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA), and reset your password for enhanced security.

Accessing Account Security Settings

To navigate to the Account Security Settings page:

Log in to your Astra dashboard.
In the side navigation panel, click on the “Settings” option.
Under the my account settings, choose "Security." This will open the Account Security Settings page.

Sign-In Methods

You can manage sign-in methods in the Security Settings page to control how you access your account. By default, all sign-in methods are allowed. To configure the sign-in methods you can select from the below options:

Email and Password: The traditional method where you enter your email and password.
Google Account: Use your Google credentials to sign in.
Microsoft Account: Use your Microsoft credentials to sign in.

Enabling Email based MFA

Enhance security by enabling email-based multi-factor authentication. This adds an extra layer of security by requiring a code sent to your email for every login attempt. To enable:

On the Security Settings page, locate the "Email Authentication" option. Click on Enable Email Auth.

This will open up a side sheet.
Enter your Astra account password on which you'll receive a One-Time Password (OTP) via email. Enter OTP
Click Continue to finish enabling email authentication.

Enabling TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Password)

TOTP adds an extra security layer by generating time-sensitive codes through an authenticator app. To enable TOTP for your account:

On the Security Settings page, locate the "Email Authentication" option. Click on Enable TOTP.

This will open up a side sheet. Select an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, then click Continue.
Enter your Astra account password
Open your app, scan the QR code displayed on your screen, or manually enter the setup key.

In next step, Download or copy the backup codes provided. These codes can help you reset the TOTP if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Enter the 6-digit code generated by your authenticator app and click "Continue" to finish setting up TOTP.

Resetting Your Password

If you need to reset your password, follow these steps

On the Security Settings Page. Click the "Update Password" button.
